Russian combat robots are ready to fight in China

This week, August 17-20, Russian engineers — students of the Moscow Institute of Technology — will take part in the international championship of fighting the robots FMB World Cup in Guangzhou (China). They will have to compete with rivals from China, Brazil and India.

For the Russian national team this is already the second world-class championship, which takes place in China. In April of this year, the Russians participated in the 2017 FMB Championship in Nanchang, where, despite the debut, they won bronze. Their opponents were teams from the US, Brazil, Portugal and Australia.

This time the Russian team included developers from two teams:

«Destructor» from Kazan, whose robot is armed with a hammer and a cutting disk. «Atom» from Ryazan, supplied its car with a Z-shaped plate with thrusting spikes. The team of the design bureau «Mobile Protected Technologies» creates not only combat robots, but also devices for emergency response services of the Russian Federation.

The prize fund of the FMB World Cup tournament is 100,000 yuan (888.6 thousand rubles).

Both the teams «Destructor» and «Atom» act in the national league «The Battle of Robots», organized in 2015 by the Moscow Technological Institute (MTI) and Promobot. For several years, the competition brought together talented engineers across the country.
